While some fans know Katherine as Izzie, Katherine’s Emmy Award win for her role as Dr. Isobel (Izzie) Stevens on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy is only the beginning.
Katherine ventured into designing medical uniforms. She was excited because this meant she would explore another creative field outside of acting. Designing the KH Collection of scrubs paired Katherine with top designers and industry professionals and together they brought a new level of style and sophistication to medical professionals who, in addition to valuing their life’s work, can now enjoy comfort and fashion as well.
Katherine’s first collection debuted in 2007, and new lines are always in the works. Katherine Heigl states, “As a design team we have a great time redefining the scrub and bringing style to medical uniforms. And judging by the positive response, I think medical professionals are very receptive to what we are doing!”
This venture marks the first time a noted celebrity has launched a product line in the healthcare apparel industry. The Katherine Heigl collection offers a high level of style and sophistication to the women who want to express their own personal style in the workplace.
“I have tremendous respect for women in the healthcare industry,” Heigl said. “I wanted to create a line of scrubs that would allow women to infuse some of their personality and style into their work apparel. When you feel good about how you look, you are more confident, more motivated and it can lift your spirits.” |
